Active Recreation Strategy

Update received from Rachel Robson, Lake Macquarie City Council

“We are preparing an Active Recreation Strategy to guide the provision of both infrastructure and initiatives to support community access and participation in active recreation for liveability, health and wellbeing. This project focuses on non-competitive leisure and recreation activities such as walking, cycling, skating, scooting, BMX, fitness training, yoga etc.”

“It is important that our Active Strategy is informed by a strong understanding of the needs and priorities of the community.  We would like to hear how the community currently experiences active recreation in our parks, reserves, beaches and swim centres.”
