Catherine Hill Bay Masterplan

Recently there has been some misinformation about potential development options for the old Bowlo site.

The facts are that the Catherine Hill Bay Master Plan, which includes among other things a Community Hub building, was the subject of public community consultation over the last several years, including a working group representing all areas of CHB.

The Alliance also hosted a design session at one of our community meetings last year, to which all were invited.

The Master Plan has been formally adopted by Council and funding for planning and design is underway. While the project timelines are not as fast as we would all like to see, we need to support the process already underway. We need to recognise that the site is complex and involves public and private land, different zonings, heritage and environmental issues, so it will take some time.

Lake Macquarie Council has provided this update:

Council has adopted the Catherine Hill Bay Precincts Master Plan to guide the future upgrade of community spaces and facilities at the two precincts in Catherine Hill Bay.  This Master Plan has been informed by broad community consultation and guided by the heritage values (and constraints) associated with the area’s state heritage listing.

We have commenced planning and delivery of stage 1 of the master plan, being the Community Hub within the Middle Camp Sports and Recreation Precinct.

We will continue to plan for future stages of the adopted plan in parallel to design of the Community Hub.  For updates on the project, please visit the project page https://www.lakemac.com.au/Projects/Catherine-Hill-Bay-Precinct-Master-Plan
